This option will be made clear on the registration form. The material fee will differ if you have your own loom. Please Contact Dayna at to discuss the use of your own loom. If you have your own warped loom ready to use in this class, you may join the class. Materials instructor will provide: All Yarn, warped looms, and sewing supplies.ĭayna will be able to provide 4 SAORI looms. Scissors, measuring tape, pins, your sewing machine (optional, you may use one of the centers machines if you like), this is for Day 4 & 5. Any special yarns you would like for your fabric (optional). Materials students should provide: Please come with basic sewing skills. We end our final day by sharing our final products! For those with time available at the end, some simple bags can be made with any extra fabric. Students will choose a garment they want to make from 5 possibilities depending on how much fabric they have woven. Students will then take a one day break (July 30th, on this day students will wash and dry fabric on their own at home). The materials fee covers the warp and weft. A basic selection of yarns will be provided for the weft. Students will learn a variety of freestyle weaving techniques using yarns that are especially good for garment fabric and freestyle weaving techniques. The looms will be warped with black cotton warp that is 20" wide. We will spend the first 3 days of class weaving lightweight, drapey fabric on my 4 SAORI looms. In this class students will learn freestyle weaving, techniques for sewing woven fabric and basic garment construction.
